First, my name is Jenn Smith, and I've been Customizing horses for just under a year. Here's my website to follow: http://www.jennscollection.weebly.com/ I try to update it everytime I do something with my herd/ studio. So now, I'm going to be here, and also there. lol. AKA all over the place. But I'll try to stick here. I will be doing some tutorials and things on here in the future, just on how I do things.
Enjoy---
So first, I'd like to start off with this Keltic Salinero who's been sitting on my workbench for the past week or so. Well... actually.. he's been very... very slowly moving for the past 3 years. He started off life as the regular KS we all know and love. Then, I etched him... very... very harshly. He was the first Traditional I had owned, so I was a little upset with myself for ruining him. But, I figured I should turn him into something great, so, I cut off his head. Weee! I wanted to play potato head, but once I had his neck and head seperated from his body, I stuck a ton of parts together from an LG and Idocus.. and noticed everything was off scale. The LG head found it's way to the Idocus (See site). So then, I cut some more from the bottom of the KS's neck to make his head down. I went to a fabric store and got mighty putty. Oh wow. I tried to use it... first... the stuff smelled like doritos, second it NEVER DRIED. So, I threw him in the body box.. which is where he sat for a year or so. Recently I took him out, picked off the puty, and sculpted his open mouth. Months later I went back;
The first thing I did was saw off his entire left front section, starting at the withers down the front, past the breast, to right between the front legs, and then back up to the withers. Then I cut and moved his front left at the knee, and moved it out a bit. And the back left at the hock and moved it back. Then I went in and stuck his head on.
Then some more prepping, added wrinkles, he grew a tail, and grew... back his man bits:
